My introduction to filmmaking came after I graduated from Broadcast Media at Brighton University in 2012. With a simple camera and lighting kit, I began by shooting shorts and taking part in filmmaking competitions, which successfully screened at Raindance, BFI and were broadcast on Channel 4.

This lead me to work professionally as a freelancer on corporates, branded content and short form documentaries - which helped land me my first feature as a second unit DP; filming in war torn Iraq. From there, I progressed to creating D&AD award winning branded content, documentaries exhibited at The Tate Modern and my first feature film as the Cinematographer.

My approach is to light and shoot in a style that leans into naturalism and minimalism, whilst often favouring intimate handheld camera work. I’m an open collaborator, encouraging ideas to be shared from from my lighting time, operators and AC’s. I often attend industry events through my membership of the British Society of Cinematographers, to continually enrich my technical knowledge.

Two of the last three feature length films I DP’d are now available on Netflix, with each film progressively increasing in budget and scope. Starting off with a skeleton crew and grocery bags as gels, to leading a full team of talented crew with industry standard kit. Armed with experience, confidence and time saving tips and tricks I’ve learnt over the years, I continue to work across branded, narrative and doc based projects.

I’m 31 years old and recently married to my other half of 12 years, Saff. We have a home in my native area of South London, alongside our spoilt rotten sausage dog and rabbit.
